By using Injizaa, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our Platform.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Account registration details: full name, email address, phone number, and password
  • Profile information: professional biography, company information, investment thesis, and stage/sector preferences
  • Pitch materials: pitch decks (PDF), video pitches, and financial information submitted during registration
  • Communications: messages sent to other users through the Platform
  • Identity verification documents provided during the vetting process

Information we collect automatically:

  • Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URLs
  • Device information: device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account and verify your identity
  • To match you with relevant founders or investors based on your profile criteria
  • To facilitate communications between matched users
  • To send you transactional emails (verification, approvals, notifications)
  • To improve and personalise your experience on the Platform
  • To monitor and enforce compliance with our Terms of Use
  • To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud or security incidents
  • To comply with our legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Information Sharing

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • With matched users: When a match is made, relevant profile information is shared with your matched counterpart to facilitate introductions
  • Service providers: We use third-party services (including Cloudinary for file storage) who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or governmental authority
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), hashed password storage, and access controls.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain information for longer.

Pitch materials and communications may be retained for a reasonable period for dispute resolution purposes.

Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your own, including Rwanda and the countries where our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers in compliance with applicable law.
